MBTI Types of the Winters Girls šŸ¤”

Good day, Gamers! And dia duit!

Iā€™m very into doing MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) personality tests for my book characters, so of course I had to do it for the TG cast! (Not all of them, of course, because that would beā€¦a LOT of people)

If you are not familiar with Myers-Briggs, I suggest you look it up and take a test. Not only will it be informational for learning more about yourself, itā€™ll also (hopefully) be fun!

My recommendations for sites to use are 16 Personalities and Truity, both offer free tests, and though you have to give your email and stuff if you want the in-depth analysis on Truity, you will have access on both to non-personalized information about your type.

And for any writers reading this, I highly recommend once you are familiar with the tests to get into your charactersā€™ mindsets and take tests for them. You can do it at any stage, right at the start of forming a character, or after they are fully formed; it just helps you know them better so you can be consistent with them in writing.

Anyway! Today Iā€™m going to be sharing with all of you the test results for the three Winters sisters and doing some talking about how their personalities come out in the books!

Iā€™ll mention chapters in which you can find parts that relate to the traits being talked about, using the titles of the ones from The Game and the chapter number of the ones from The Heart of The Game.

Okay, here we go!

Rose, the ENFJ-T

79% Extroverted. 62% iNtuitive. 78% Feeling. 78% Judging. 65% Turbulent. (These percentages are susceptible to change, so donā€™t put TOO MUCH stock in them)

Rose thrives off of connection with others, craving it when it is not provided *nods to Chapter 19*, and this comes from, or is explained by, her Extroversion.

But, as an iNtuitive, she cares little for social norms (Monthly Memory 2). What she cares about is morality, being an upstanding person who tries to make the world better.

Cues from the outside world can go over her head because she is focused on the mind of things, the possibilities, the ā€œcould beā€, not the ā€œisā€. As 28 demonstrates, she can be so focused on the big picture, that she can miss the details that would give her more clarity.

She is a metaphorical heart, loving is who she is, without strings, but with limits (Court is in Session).

And as a Judger, she seeks structure, largely in the form of lists, schedules, and just generally planning things out (beginning of Christmas, Part 1, anyone?). She can go with the flow, and is pretty lenient, but if she doesnā€™t see reason to change her plans, she is stubborn with the best of them, even when up against other peopleā€™s feelings (Chapter 30~).

Whatever someone might say of her because she is compassionate and empathetic, never call her a conformist, because she is not (loose, but 27).

Turbulent is not a categorization most sites have, but the one I used (16 Personalities; my preferred for character testing) does, and itā€™s another layer of understanding, so I’m including it.

In Rose, it shows her as being more emotionally respondent when confronted with stress (end of 22!). Improvement is a constant striving point for her, and she may be hesitant in her own abilities.

Roo, our lovably crazy ENFP-T

81% Extroverted. 70% iNtuitive. 52% Feeling. 51% Perceiving. 82% Turbulent.

She is a socialite, being with others, fitting in, having a good image, is what she runs on. (Literally the entire series for referenceā€¦)

She wants to be the perfect Victorian lady in the eyes of others. Her focus is on people, not her own mind.

Her firm upholding of tradition is an interesting thing in an iNtuitive Perceiver though, and that shows just how important public image is to her, as she tries to deny her creative, excitement seeking, against the grain nature.

In fact, you may have noticed that Perceiving is on the brink of collapsing to Judging, this is because of that denial, because if you force yourself to be one way, the results will come out differently than they would if you were just you. She is however in truth a solid Perceiver. And it is the moments when she does break free into her true self that bring about some of the, at least in my opinion, best incidents *looks lovingly at Dollnapped, Parts 1 and 2, and the GLORIOUS Chapter 29*!

Her Feeling side is less pronounced than Roseā€™s, sheā€™s hardly even in that category, but she has strong emotions and cares about others (Nightmares). She furthermore wants to be cared about (24), which is in no way dependent on being a Feeler, but Thinkers are less inclined to SEEK it.

She is a strong Turbulent as you can tell, my favorite example being in The One with the Pile of Books. Read that and no more need be saidā€¦OR go look at the Nutshell comic for Court is in Session for those who donā€™t have a copy of TG.

Altogether, I think if I were to use only one word to describe her, it would be passionate. She is passionate about people, society, causes, ideas, love, etc.!

Fae, my INTJ buddy

79% Introverted. 56% iNtuitive. 68% Thinking. 64% Judging. 61% Assertive.

If you know Fae, itā€™s dead obvious that sheā€™s an Introvert. She has a VERY SMALL friend group (can you even call it a group? The poor girl needs more friendsā€¦) and reclusive is a good word for her.

The line is very fine between iNtuitive and Sensing for her. She is very practical and realistic (every retort she ever makes), which is more characteristic of an S. But she is fiercely independent; independent of society and independent of traditions (#Faeā€™s entire portrayal), and she is extremely creative, which tips her over to N.

Logic, not feelings, wins the day for her. Not to say either that she lacks feelings (19) or that those who follow their feelings are illogical, she merely prefers to set aside feelings to keep her head clear (Fighting For). Thatā€™s what it means to be a Thinker.

I suppose her being a Judger mostly comes down to the fact that she doesnā€™t feel she needs to ā€œspice upā€ her life.

She enjoys her larks with Lydia and Lilian (8 and 25šŸ˜), but she doesnā€™t seek them out. She’s good with just going about daily life (A Day in the Life), letting others initiate out-of-the-norm activities.

I think in-the-moment, though, that she very much likes ā€œspiceā€, itā€™s just a matter of whether she will go out of her way to change things up (Impenetrable Walls).

Sheā€™s not very structured too. Routine, organization, all that stuff, isnā€™t all that important to her, so it is interesting that she came out Judging, and once again it largely comes down to the fact that she is OKAY WITH the usual.

But I suppose she is also fairly ā€œorderlyā€… *shrugs* Itā€™s a toss up.

Finally, as an Assertive, Fae tends to be very cool headed and self confident (16). Her response to stress (in whatever form it may take) is cold disdain and a moving on with life (most Timothy incidents).

That was fun! I enjoyed putting that together, and I hope you enjoyed reading it, getting to know these characters on a deeper level!

Let us know if youā€™d like us to do this for other characters!

And speaking of other characters, Monday is Jasperā€™s birthday! We wonā€™t be doing anything for it, so just thought Iā€™d mention it.

Thank you for reading, have a blessed weekend!

~Sincerely, L.B.
